One the Waterfront is an exciting new venue including a restaurant, cafe, bar and rooms located by the sea in Tramore, County Waterford. The seaside town of Tramore is well known in Ireland’s Ancient East and a popular holiday destination for Irish people.
The Waterfront first opened in the 1960's as a popular bar. During the economic downturn the business, like many in the area, closed down. It changed hands a number of times including the popular Cúil Trá Bar and later a restaurant called The Sea View.
The property remained vacant for a number of years before being purchased by local Kilkenny man Seamus Walsh in 2018. Seamus is best known as being the owner of Waterford Castle, a luxury hotel and golf resort situated on a private Island just 10 mins from Waterford City and 15 mins from Tramore.
Over a number of months in 2018 and 2019 Seamus and his team completely renovated and refurbished the property to it's full potential, including the addition of the Captain’s deck and the Beach deck, both perched on the cliffside and with breathtaking sea views. The main restaurant, One the Waterfront, opened its doors in June 2019, while the newly restored Waterfront bar opened in December 2019.
Works continued in 2020, this time to renovate and create chic boutique-style ensuite bedrooms. The Addresse on the Beach at One the Waterfront was completed in Spring 2020, offering bright and modern boutique-style rooms by the sea in a neighbouring building to the main Restaurant, and just steps from the beach.
In 2021 the team worked to refurbish another vacant venue in Tramore. The Beach Cliff is in the final stages of completion and opened in July 2021. The Beach Cliff offers an affordable accommodation option in Tramore, with the added bonus of a central location and spectacular sea views from the clifftop.
There are yet more plans to come for One the Waterfront in the future.
